A mix of unique and original compositions and compelling covers. Mostly solo guitar with occasional overdubs of bass, Weissenborn guitar, lap steel and additional acoustic guitars. Covers include “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry,” “Imagine/Across The Universe,” “Killing the Blues” and a fresh take on Leo Kottke’s lovely “Three Quarter North.”

“Sunnyland” draws from the blues and gospel music Ed has always loved and is enhanced by the deep personal connection Ed always brings to his music. Eleven of the fourteen tracks are Ed’s originals and span a diverse palette of styles, from the fast and playful “Little Road” to the dark and mysterious “5 to 99” The three arrangements of classics are Ed’s relaxed, soulful take on “Just a Closer Walk with Thee,” a newly remixed “Just Can’t Keep from Crying Sometimes” (originally on “House of Guitars”) and a sweetly haunting “Amazing Grace.”

Ed’s seventh album House of Guitars finds him creating an ever wider range of sounds and textures, each carrying a deep emotional impact. The sounds on this disc are up to Ed’s usual high audio standards despite being recorded using cheap, pawnshop style guitars! The material ranges widely as well, from beautiful, tender ballads like “Let it Be Me” and Paul McCartney’s wistful “Junk” to the eerie yet rocking “Because of you, this.”
